How to get a usable route measurement
- Choose visible start and finish marks and stay in the same server.
- Time three clean current-Speed runs; sort the results and enter the median.
- Enter that time plus the displayed current and target Speed. The calculator scales your own route measurement.
Worked example using the starting fields
A 12-second route at Speed 16 scales to an estimated 8 seconds at Speed 24: 12 × 16 ÷ 24 = 8. That is a 4-second one-way estimate, not a guaranteed escape. A round trip may save about 8 seconds before turns, pickup time, collisions and latency are added.
Turn the result into a decision
| Measured outcome | Decision | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Target time plus pickup and buffer fits the observed safe window | GO only under the same route conditions | The result has positive measured headroom |
| Result is within your latency or timing variation | RETEST | The estimated gain may be noise rather than a reliable improvement |
| Round trip still exceeds the safe window | TRAIN MORE or shorten the route | Higher Speed alone has not closed the measured gap |
Three checks before a run
- Retest after treadmill or Speed upgrades
- Keep the same start and finish points
- Allow extra margin for turns, pickup and latency
Measure training progress with the treadmill progress calculator, compare evidence for the Divine Trail, or use the egg run planner to add pickup time and your observed safe window.
